Authentication / Attestation/ Translation of Documents.
As provided by the Consular function act No 4 of 1981 all diplomatic officers of Sri Lanka Mission abroad are empowered to function as Justice of Peace in accordance with the Sri Lanka Law in addition to their other official functions under various statutory provision. Accordingly Consular Section of the Embassy has been entrusted to authenticate any documents, issued by the Sri Lankan authorities or documents that has relevance to Sri Lanka on the request of Sri Lankan or Local (Vietnamese) authorities.
These functions carried out on behalf of Sri Lankan nationals or on the request of the local (Vietnamese) authorities by the Consular Section of the Embassy includes certification of document such as Sri Lankan Police Clearance Certificates, Birth Certificates Marriage Certificates employment or educational records etc or translation of such documents into any of the official languages in Sri Lanka.
Document required for the above service - Original document with a Copy. - Copy of the passport (data page). - Required fee (Link to fee schedule). - Pre-paid Courier envelope to return the documents.
Payment of the Fee
The fees could be paid in cash over the counter at the Embassy or deposit / transfer in the Embassy bank account. If the fee has been deposit in the bank, a copy of the receipt issued by the bank should be attached to the application. Official receipt will be issued for the payments.

Those who need the above service could contact the Consular section of the Embassy and discuss with the relevant officials on the nature of the document and the service required prior to dispatching the documents to the Embassy in order to prevent unnecessary delays.
